Messiah–first Philippine Presidentiable; “Manok” tried but failed

Manok should have been the very first person to file his certificate of candidacy for the presidency. Like that Filipino adage which says the early one normally gets the first crack, in Manok’s case, being the first does not mean that he’s “in”.

For lack of proper documents, “Manok” of Pampanga was not considered by the Comelec as a serious candidate and hence, his CoC was rejected.

Lawyer and avowed Marcos Loyality Oliver Lozano should have been the very first to file his candidacy for president. Yet, the COMELEC deprived the publicity hungry lawyer his share of the limelight.

What caught the Comelec’s eye is the CoC of someone who goes by the name “Messiah”. Messiah is the cutie nickmate of Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL) presidential candidate Rigoberto Madera.

Madera thinks he’s the one predicted by the Heavens to replace Mrs. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. If Arroyo has her Enchanted Kingdom, Madera has his Kingdom of Heaven.

His CoC was the first, and a quantum physicist’s CoC, second. Gilbert Garcia who teaches physics at one Laguna-based school believes that physics, not politics, is the answer to all our problems.

If the “Messiah” has just arrived, a political science graduate from Bohol wants to be Senator. Fifty five year old Victorino Inte enjoys the distinction of being the first Senatoriable. Inte thinks that what he learned from school can be applied to reality. And the Comelec believed him.

Other stooges, err, candidates will be filing their respective CoCs. The period for filing of CoCs will start today, November 20 and ends in December 1.
