Military and police officials vowed to use lethal force against Maguindanao governor Andal Ampatuan Sr., father of Maguindanao massacre mastermind Datu Unsay Mayor Andal Ampatuan Jr., should the clan patriarch resist arrest tomorrow.
Andal Ampatuan Sr. is being tagged as the brains, the mastermind behind the brutal killing of 57 people in Sharif Aguak in Maguindanao. Investigation shows that it was Andal Ampatuan Sr who planned and ordered the butchering and killing of innocent civilians, media men and members of rival clan, Mangundadatu family.
The Patriarch of the Ampatuan clan is believed to be holed up inside the Ampatuan compound guarded by heavily armed guards. These guards, witnesses say, took part in the massacre and are now hiding inside one of the mansions of the Ampatuans.
