More COMELEC Officials Offer to Testify for Marcos as Recount Nears

Three more provincial and regional officials of the Commission on Elections have stepped forward to voluntarily testify  for former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.,Marco’s camp told Bacolod local radio station on Saturday.

Atty. Reynaldo Maglona, regional legal counsel of Marcos said that the three officials from Negros Island and Iloilo have the all the complete information on how the Election was rigged in the Island of Negros, and Iloilo. Magalona did not name the three officials for security reasons.

The Supreme Court acting as Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) has also ordered to prepare for the recount, but did not give details about the schedule.

PET has limited the number of witnesses each camp can present, but Magalona said that even PET will not allow the three officials to testify, their affidavits and actual evidence are enough for Marcos to win against the sitting Vice President Leni Robredo.


Marcos filed an electoral protest against Robredo, citing massive election frauds.

Three provinces are set to be recounted based on Marcos’ request. They are Camarines Sur, Negros Oriental, and Negros Occidental. Marcos believe that he could win by recounting just the mentioned three provinces. /Olive Lozano/
