Cong. Alejano Diagnosed with Rare Early Signs of Dementia

The House of Representatives on Wednesday announced that Magdalo Party List Representative and former mutineer, Congressman Gary Alejano, is suffering from a rare early sign of memory loss.

House secretary Atty. Niel Palabrica told reporters that the findings was finalized by the doctors from Makati Medical Center after a week-long observation.

“The Congressman’s memory wasn’t stable and he is diagnosed with a rare sign of memory loss”, Palabrica said.

Alejano was brought to hospital last Monday, September 4, when he complained of severe head ache. He has since going in and out of the hospital.

Fellow representative Carlos Isagani Zarate of Bayan Muna was even surprised when Alejano called him after the House hearing on CJ Sereno’s impeachment case.

“He asked me if his impeachment complaint had passed the congressional scrutiny. I don’t know what to answer. I guess he thinks that we are still deliberating about his case”, Zarate said.

Zarate only found out about Alejano’s health condition following Palabrica’s announcement.

According to Alejano’s medical record, the Congressman is losing  short-term memory at an alarming speed. The record also said that the case is rare because it is not normal for Alejano’s age of 44, to suffer have such symptom.

Doctors did not reveal about the cure or treatment, but assured the public that they will do everything to help the Congressman. /Joy Valle/
