The cash-strapped Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) is asking activist-turned Senator Risa Hontiveros, to give what she had previously promised – the P170 million aide from Philhealth Fund.
On Friday, National Democratic Front (NDF) chief negotiator Fidel Agcaoili told Hontiveros to be “true to her words and deliver her promised”. Agcaoili’s comment came amid the deteriorating relationship between Duterte’s government and the communists.
“It’ been more than one year since the senator (Risa Hontiveros) won the election. It’s been more than one year that the people are waiting for what she promised. We put her to where she is right now, but until now she never delivered,” Agcaoili said.
The communist leader also said that the lady Senator earned millions of pesos during her time as Philhealth chief, and that she promised to give at least P170 million to the group.
“That money would have long been given to us. Our brothers and sisters are waiting”, Agcaoili added.
Hontiveros, a self-proclaimed activist since six years old, is believed to be an active supporter of the communist revolution.
